RSS parser is a fast and adaptable CFC that parses XML. Originally it was designed to read RSS feeds of blogs and was later adapted to be able read various RSS feeds. Currently it is limit to RSS 2.0 format, but I am working on adapting it to handle Atom feeds.

The RSS parser was design to allow programmers to pass in a list of item child nodes that they want to search for in the XML, such as title and description. I also built in the ability to group 2 or more child nodes together in an "OR" represented by |, such as pubdate|datepub. This would search for pubdate first and if this isn't found it would search for datepub and continue if there where additional child nodes until it found one. It would then use the first child node in the list as the structure key and save what ever value is found to it.

I also created a cfc that works with the RSS parser to handle a gallery feed from SmugMug.com. Among other things the smugmug cfc gets information, such as imageID from the image link, and uses this the create links to the various image sizes that are not directly included in the XML.

A user using the Ajax skin can chat with a user using the Flash skin. Thus, users without the latest version of Flash - or for whom Flash runs slowly - can still chat.

As the main FlashChat, the Ajax skin supports custom user photos, custom background, and room list and chat avatars.

Installation is as easy as uploading three folders - ajax, languages, and templates - to your existing FlashChat installation. No database modifications are needed, and there is no installer needed at all.

The Ajax skin for FlashChat works with FlashChat's CMS and forum integrations. Thus, if you have integrated FlashChat with a system like phpBB or vBulletin, you can use this skin.

IRC commands like /back and /backtime work with the Ajax skin for FlashChat.

All applets include an XML configuration file, which can be easily edited using any good text editor, like Textpad (www.textpad.com). Chart line positioning and width, and many other common options, can be configured.

Specify the actual data points in the XML configuration file, as a comma-delimited string of values. Change both X and Y axes easily, as well as common color values.

Nearly every graph color is configurable in the external XML file. You can also change the font size and style, and specify the font decoration (bold/italic, etc.).

All XML files include a DTD to easily validate your XML syntax. These can be used with such XML editors as xmlSpy (www.xmlspy.com).

Popup feature for specific information about any bar in the graph. Popups are also configurable in the XML configuration file.
