OpenID is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity (I stole that from their website). But what does it mean? Well, basically OpenID is a way to authenticate yourself to various places (websites) by verifying your identity as the owner of a particular URL (say, a website of your own). Why this is good or bad, and what the actual implications of it are... well, that's all way outta scope as far as myOpenID is concerned.

What matters is that OpenID is a promising new technology, but from a user porint of view, it's a pain the butt to manage. When I wanted to actually, y'know, get an OpenID thingie of my own, I found there was no satisfactory way to make it happen. My options were to either download a complex set of libraries and build an application to handle serving up my identity, or to set up an account with a third party provider. Since I don't like bulky libraries, and I really don't like the idea of re-centralizing a decentralized framework through trusting someone else with my account credentials... I did what any good Geek would do. I made myself a third option: myOpenID.

Session Cookies
In a future release of this login script, it will support cookies, meaning a simple "remember me" checkbox will be placed on the login form, allowing your site to identify the user's login status when the user returns to the site after hours, days, even weeks.

Database Control :
Soon you will have more control over the database table name and the field names which the script uses. We realize that a large amount of users/members will want to integrate this form into an existent database table, so this feature is a priority.

Flash Login Form :
A flash login form which will more or less look the same as the normal login form, though it will be completely flash, which communicates with the PHP files in the background to log a user in without any page refresh. Many users will find this useful, especially because of the no-refresh advantage.

A simple user login system with an easy install script. You will be able to proect php web pages with a small bit of code that will only allow registered logged in members to see, if they are not logged in then it will ask them to.
Its a simple and very easy to use script.
