PHP Layers Menu is a hierarchical menu system to prepare "on the fly" DHTML menus relying on the PHP scripting engine for the processing of data items.
It is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL), either Version 2.1, or (at your option) any later version.
It supports a wide range of browsers: Mozilla, Konqueror, Netscape, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer; rather old browser versions are supported, too; accessibility is provided for text-only browsers

1) unlimited depth, though you can set a limit
2) makes only one SQL query to draw the tree
3) draws all the ascending branches
4) you can easily add it to your scripts
5) UltraTree generates compact HTML

A typical document is structured heierarchically, with a main body, sections, sub-sections, footnotes, and so on--like a "tree," with a root, some branches, and many leaves. Yet we don't read it that way on the Web; instead, we typically read documents either as one big long page with numbered subsections, or as a collection of separate web pages, each one completely erasing the other when a link is selected.

This is a very handy function if you ask me. A menu based on pagination is a must have if you're offering multiple pages, listings or whatever else that users have to search for between results etc.
It's very simple and very effective too. I've searched the web to find the best, easyest, simplest examples and I'll paste them right here.
There are 6 types of pagination functions so I suggest you to try each and every one of them for a best result.
