There are a lot of tree generating scripts just like this one, and many of them are great. So why use dTree?
dTree is very simple to set up and use. You don't have to worry about adding pages to the tree in a specific order, which makes it ideal for generating a tree from a database.
The first version of the tree is still available here.

The layout used for this demo is just one of many possible combinations of Treeview settings. If your site requires a different look-and-feel, check some of the things you can change:
Use one frameless page
Link the items to pages.
Display folder and document icons.
Activate highlight of last selection.
See the other demos in this site for more.

Navigation is one of the most important pieces of any Web page or application. Correctly designed, it allows users find what they need, easily and quickly.
With a tree menu control, also called treeview, the information is displayed in a hierarchical manner. Beginning users like to use a tree control because it is easy to understand, just like using Windows Explorer. Experienced users like a treeview because it is efficient in the number of clicks needed to find information.

This demonstration creates a user-friendly outline-style table of contents for a multi-frame window. The sample data here is inconsequential, but representative of the kind of things you might like to have an outline pointing to.
One part of the design I focused on was making as much of the code as generalizable as possible so that only minor changes would be necessary to modify data for any given outline.
Instructions: To start, click on any of the widget icons below the divider bar in the left frame. Clicking on any of the text links displays the relevant portion of a document in this frame.
Notice to Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 Users: While this outliner works fine from a web server, it does not work if you download all the files and try to access it from your hard disk. This is because MSIE 3.0 does not store or read cookies (even temporary ones like the one used in the outliner) when the file that creates/reads the cookie is on a local hard drive.

Absolutely wonderful features you may never imagine before, Skytree 2.0 takes you into a new era of treeview.
Skytree 2.0 has strong compatibility with almost all browsers in different operating systems, that fits more programmers and users work in different system environment in the extreme.
Skytree 2.0 is very easy for programmers to migrate into projects they owned. Programmers can configure their trees by simply steps, for some cases, just only several lines to finish configuration. And also, with Database Supporting, keep simple as usual, no need for coding, but just some setting, and your DB tree is presented.

Creating a site map for a site is a very useful addition for your visitors. Users will get to see a hierarchical structure of your site at a quick glance and can then visit pages more easily. They’re also very useful for opening all of your links to search engines. The problem with site maps is they’re hard to navigate if your site has many, many pages. However, allowing users to see a collapsed version and be able to expand sections as needed could help them navigate without becoming overwhelmed.
