First steps to a complete game
Do you remember old style puzzle games where a ball/cat/alien had to run over a tiled environment to get to destroy/collect/push all diamonds/bombs/enemies?
Old Commodore killer games now can be written and played in your browser thanks to Macromedia Flash.
I want to write a remake of one of that old glories. Which one? It's a secret, by now.
I went to gotoAndPlay and discovered an interesting article about tile based movements. In that article, you can control a green square in a maze made by red squares. Not so bad, but i was looking for a "green square" (our ball/cat/alien) able to walk only over red squares, and dying if it walks out of them.
So I started changing a bit the code and the result is:
