HPFind to speed up the search process
8657 HPFind to speed up the search process http://www.geocities.com/waulok/ v2.0 contains many more customisation features such as Font Faces, Colours and Script locations. I also changed the script so it would write to an Output File and not expect the end user to redirect output to a file somewhere. Simple Search is a perl script that allows for a fast search of keywords and/or phrases within your website. It works on both Windows NT/2000 and Unix/Linux Web servers that have Perl 5 or higher installed on them. This script is very easy for installation and integration on your existing web site. It is completely build on HTML templates which you can edit (using WebAdmin tool) at any time in order to make it work best for your specific web application. Matt Wright's Simple Search script that I have modified. Many new features have been added - A 'Nothing Found' screen with text input for a new search. a new sub-routine so that one can search directories seperately, making the search much faster if you have a lot of files. The script can be called directly with a browser, and it will print a blank form to the user. A sample text option, a checkbox on the HTML page, if checked will give a sample of the text on the page. The ammount of text is controlled by a variable in the search.cgi. It is set at 200 characters (about 40 words) you can set it at any number. Finally a counter that tells the user how many files were found for their search word(s).
I have not written much of a help file yet, I am hopeing the script is self-explainatory with the help written in the cgi. If you need help check Matt Wright's FAQ for the Simple Search first.
