8653Website search enginehttp://risearch.webservis.ru/RiSearch - simple but powerful search engine. This script is NOT meant to replace such powerful search systems like ht://Dig and Glimpse, and of course it can't compete with commercial software which costs thousands of dollars. RiSearch intended for small and medium sites with 1000-10000 files and total volume about 10-100Mb. It should be quite enough for most amateur sites. However, script is powerful enough to work with much larger number of files.CGI and Perl > Scripts and Programs > Searching > Site SearchOct 11, 2006
Speed Search is an amazing Perl script you can plugin to your web site allowing your visitors to search static web pages throughout your entire site or specified folders. Speed search comes with a feature rich admin section with options and settings that allow you to speed up searches on large sites. Look at all the major features you get.
Perlfect Search is a sophisticated, powerful, versatile, customizable and effective site indexing/searching suite available under an open source license (GPL). It comes as a pair of distinct scripts. The indexer, that automatically scans and indexes a web site, and the search engine, a cgi script that serves search queries for keywords over the index, and displays results pages in html, in a standard format including title, description and relevance ranking for each matching document. Advanced features include stopwords, a potent exclude mechanism and a handy automatic installation and configuration utility.
Matt Wright's Simple Search script that I have modified. Many new features have been added - A 'Nothing Found' screen with text input for a new search. a new sub-routine so that one can search directories seperately, making the search much faster if you have a lot of files. The script can be called directly with a browser, and it will print a blank form to the user. A sample text option, a checkbox on the HTML page, if checked will give a sample of the text on the page. The ammount of text is controlled by a variable in the search.cgi. It is set at 200 characters (about 40 words) you can set it at any number. Finally a counter that tells the user how many files were found for their search word(s).
I have not written much of a help file yet, I am hopeing the script is self-explainatory with the help written in the cgi. If you need help check Matt Wright's FAQ for the Simple Search first.
v2.0 contains many more customisation features such as Font Faces, Colours and Script locations. I also changed the script so it would write to an Output File and not expect the end user to redirect output to a file somewhere.
