Simple Search is a perl script that allows for a fast search of keywords and/or phrases within your website. It works on both Windows NT/2000 and Unix/Linux Web servers that have Perl 5 or higher installed on them. This script is very easy for installation and integration on your existing web site. It is completely build on HTML templates which you can edit (using WebAdmin tool) at any time in order to make it work best for your specific web application. The script does not need pre-indexing of the existing documents. The search is performed within the specified by you directories/folders. It has the ability to automatically place ANCHORS which link the visitors? search results directly to the documents containing the sought word or phrase.

To be able to use any perl scripts you will need to have cgi-bin access. Some service providers only allow cgi access to their business customers. So check first.
The first line of any perl script point to the location of the Perl program on the file server which varies on different servers. You will need to contact your service provider for this location and change the first line of the script accordingly.
When you upload the script to your service provider ensure you transfer in ASCII mode as this will convert the file to the correct format. If your pages are on a UNIX server you will need to change the rights to the file using chmod to 755 or -rwxr-xr-x.
