A few years ago I looked all over the Internet to find helpful resources for the Church. When I found them I began to compile them together in the form of a Bible Search Engine called "The Bible Toolbox". Unfortunately, as I was writting it I could not find any other code written for Internet Bible research that was made freely available. I don't think this is a good thing because the more that is available for public use and enhancement the better tools the Church can develop to reach our world. So I specifically designed this one as a free script so that other programmers can take it and develop it into better code and thus increase the number of resources available on the Internet.
After 404 Manager is installed, the notfound.cgi file is set as the error document handler for all file not found requests (details on how to do this are in the README.txt file included in the zip). For example, a page at http://somedomain.com/links.html may link to a page on your site http://yourdomain.com/page.html which does not exist. When a user clicks on the link on somedomain.com, 404 Manager kicks in, records the request for the page on your domain that was not found, and the referring url (http://somedomain.com/links.html). Then at your leisure, you can view 404manager.cgi and review your 404's and the sites that are linking to incorrect pages.
Please note that because this is a web driven program, people *could* add malicious code as html and send it thru the cgi to be executed by the webserver. This script was designed to show the fundamentals of what *could* be done. PerlCoders takes no responsibility for anything that may happen by using this script.
I describe it as an Explorer for Notepad. Now you can share this data over the Internet with an online explorer-style viewer.
Simply upload your TreePad file in ASCII, and visitors can browse your TreePad the way it was meant to be seen: as a tree.
This script allows you to open up whatever HJT files are located in the directory. If you have a family tree file, a journal, some notes, or any other files in the same directory, then the script prompts you to open the HJT file of your choice.
