upload.pl is simple perl CGI script to upload file using netscape 2.0+ or Internet Explorer 4.0+. The program uses the excellent CGI.pm perl module (part of standard perl now). To upload a file, the user must validate herself. The script uses a text file as a user database. The text file contains the vertical bar separated userid, Unix crypted password ( can be used in Windows as well) and user's upload path.
FEATURES: Works on Unix and Windows, with Netscape or Explorer! The program has options for limiting file sizes and types, uploaded file types can be set for All files, All files except executables, or just image files!
You have an option to place a link in the success page to the uploaded file, that users can utilize else where, and the program has been updated to work with the new Perl 5.8.0
SPADS ? (File Uploader) using perl only, can upload images only (.gif or .jpg) or any type of file! It can by omission exclude all, ( .exe), ( .dll) and ( .bat) files. Use with caution!
The program has been rewritten to by pass some of the limitations of the cgi-lib.pl that it used to work with. And to make it more flexable for the user!
NEW! SPADS ? File Uploader ? v2.6
New Features: I have added some features to further explain the process of file uploading and what to do with the file once it has been uploaded.
These files are stored in UNIX so if any scripts or text files appear to be munged in DOS/Win use Wordpad or a word processor to edit and save as plain text. And if you upload from DOS/Win to UNIX, upload as ASCII, not binary.
Like most software, to scratch an itch. In the corporate world, the size of email attatchments is usually restricted to preserve bandwidth and email server file system resources. This is frustrating for many users who have a legitimate need to send and receive large files. Most people understand email and web browsers, so PaKnPosT leverages this understanding by using HTTP via Web browser to convey files, and text email to notify file recipients. To ease corporate concerns, optional administrative controls feature file type and size restriction, user restrictions, virus scanning, encryption, password protection and anti-spam measures.
This CGI upload script provides your customers with the ability transfer files from your website to your server. A smooth and easy to use interface for both customers and administrators, in retrieving and managing uploaded files was the basis for development of this HTTP File Transfer Program. Additionally, you can create multiple folders for your customers to upload files to, create and edit notes associated with each file uploaded, and send personalized auto-responding email messages to your customers after a file upload takes place.
