welcome to EZMBGEN - the Easy Message Board Generator. i picked Message Board v4.0 from CGI Factory as the basis of EZMBGEN because of its simplicity and power.
after you install this script at your site, you offer your guests the ability to create their own message boards and control the look by selecting these options:
an external image may be used as a logo
the font (face and size) is selectable
there are many color schemes to choose from
it is possible to require that subject, name and/or email be entered in order for a message to post.
HTML entry may be turned on or off
the auto-reply feature may be turned on (ie. the poster can choose to be notified when someone posts a reply to the poster's message)
it is possible to limit the number of replies to a thread so it doesn't become unwieldy
it is possible to set the number of messages per page in the index (the board will automatically create pages as required)
it is possible to set the maximum number of threads in the board (the script will continually monitor this limit and delete oldest threads as new ones are added CGI and Perl > Scripts and Programs > Discussion Boards Oct 10, 2006

This program has spawned many imitators but this is the original. For anyone who needs to publish a lot of text on the web Txt2html is extremely useful. It is a tiny program that automates the process of splitting up large text files into nice html pages containing all the necessary hyperlinks to all the other pages.

This program is a free bulletin board system script, allowing you to create a message board. Your visitors will be able to add messages or reply to messages on the board. You can completely customize the look and feel of the message board. The board is template driven so you can not only adjust the colours, but the layout and design. You can also select the maximum posts for the board, and whether to keep old posts. All board messages are created in HTML files so that they can be indexed by search engines. The admin feature allows you to edit and delete messages. HTML and JavaScript are blocked but some effects are allowed such as bold, colour and link URL's.
