Counter allows you to represent the number of visitors to your page (or more accurately, the number of people to load the counter image) through a graphical depiction. If you have Server Side Includes and would rather have a more accurate and txt-based counter, check out TextCounter.

EZ Count allows you to have a FREE graphical counter on all your web pages or just on a particular few. It requires SSI (Server Side Include). A very fast and simple program, EZ Count only consists of one file and is 100% configurable. If you want a fast, simple, accurate counter then this is it! Just look at the features that most counters don't have

The all-in-one package to display a counter on your website! Its totally up to you how you use it. It has two modes of operation, the first being text based where the count is returned simply as a number and the second being where graphics are displayed showing the hitcount.

It's a Perl script, so installation is pretty easy. You don't need to
compile anything.
Copy counter.cgi in your /cgi-bin/ directory
Make it executable, unix only (chmod a+rx counter.cgi)
