This script is the ancestor of Aardvark Topsites PHP. It is still the best free CGI topsites script, although it's nowhere near as good as Aardvark Topsites PHP. If you don't have PHP and MySQL, give it a try.

Usually your stats show the amount of visitors your website gets and from where these visitors are coming. This is fine but does not precisely help you in your marketing campaign. You probably have invested a lot of money to get large amounts of hits but you are not sure if this money actually pays off since you don't know how many real sales are under these hits?

CountLink is a script that will update a log file for tracking the number of hits for any link on your website. The website owner need only place a link to the script with a link contained in the link in the following manner:

This will activate the script and it will do the following:
1. Add a count for the link "linkaddress.htm" in the log file.
2. Re-orders the log file list from most to least clicks.
3. Auto-forwards the user to http://linkaddress.htm.
4. The interface is seamless, the user isn't prompted for anything.
5. The link can be to anywhere and a single log file is kept to track all downloads.

SpyLink is a program written in Perl, giving you the ability to track any link on your site. It shows number of clicks on a given URL and the last click date and visitor IP. It uses its own database and log files. For Unix/Linux servers.
