TCLink is an LGPL'd thin client API which can run credit card transactions over TCP/IP. A similar package is Red Hat's ccvs, however, it requires that you use a modem or leased line. With TCLink you can run credit card transactions directly over the Internet.

Jon Corbet has a newer version of Quote.py that includes better support for UK stocks. You can get it at ftp://ftp.eklektix.com/pub/Quote/ and can just drop it in to the viewportfolio directory to replace the Quote.py file found there.
