Strings are probably what you will use most in your PHP script. From concatenating, looking for patterns, trim, chop etc. So I guess it's a good idea to take a better look at this creature. We will also take a peek at some string functions that you might find useful for everyday coding.
String is a type in PHP and it is a series of characters. There are exactly 256 different characters possible. This also implies that PHP has no native support of Unicode.
However I have a good news as well as there is no limitation in string length in PHP (Of course available memory and PHP ini settings can reduce it).
Functions are similar to variables in the sense that they hold information within them and can be executed once or unlimited times by a PHP script. PHP has many functions already created with a specific job or function a pre installed function we have alreay worked with in this tutorial is echo(). You can create your own function too.
