One of my favorite aspects of PHP is how easy it is for beginners. Maybe it's because I still remember struggling with CGI programs written in C circa 1994, but I get a kick out of novice programmers being able to build real Web applications in PHP. It's so easy for the non-programmer to get started with PHP. All the software you need is free.
The configuration system that PHP uses for installation is one of those nice, simple things in life that makes it rosy. At first it might seem a little confusing, but it's really very easy. So let's dive right in.
