It was originally born out of the author's frustration and disappointment with other open-source AJAX toolkits. It is built on the same principles of AJAX, utilizing JavaScript and the XMLHTTP object on the client-side and the appropriate scripting language on the server-side to complete the full circle of data passing from client to server and back.PHP > Scripts and Programs > XML and PHPOct 15, 2006Paul Sullivan, Dominique Stender

XMLTV is a suite of grabbers and tools to retrieve tv listings from one of the major television magazine websites (e.x. TV-Today) and to store it as XML data. The XML structure is independent of the source data. Now you can use the tv listings in your own apps without worrying about changes of the magazine sites. All you have to do is to write your own XML parser or use this one.
With this script you can include the content from your livejournal (http://www.livejournal.com) into your website. It grabs the data from an RSS feed and then displays it on an independant page so it can be configured into your own site.
