I've been programming some heavy Flash and PHP integration, lately. I tend to use XML as the method for moving data back and forth. The Flash loadVars class is cool, but when it comes to moving lots of stuff, I like the portability and extensibility of XML. Interoperability with future applications will be assured using XML, IMHO
