To fetch a web page from your PHP application, you could use curl functions or simply open the page with fopen(). But these have some limitations. Your server needs to have PHP with curl enabled, or the PHP configuration should allow scripts to open an URL with fopen().
It's a rather silly name, I know; however, TwitterZoid is the chosen name of my PHP script for parsing Twitter RSS feeds. I've been using Twitter quite steadily for a couple of weeks now and I thought it might be nice to include my latest tweets on my blog, so I wrote TwitterZoid to do just that.
Mine The Web is a highly flexible content retrieval system that allows you to capture content from websites. It lets you format the content in any way you need, and stores the content in a database of your choice and in fields that you can specify. You have complete control over the entire process. You can then publish that content on your own website.
This web site now has its own RSS feed and [almost] realtime download statistics (they're updated every six hours to minimize the strain on Sourceforge's servers.) Enjoy!
