TotalIndex v2.0 is an open source script that is designed to replace the simple, and boring default index page of a site which lists the files in an indexed folder. This script produces a stylish and organized view of the files and folders in an indexed directory. Any folder on your site (including subfolders) can easily be indexed simply by copying a single file to the highest level folder. This script comes with many icons for different file types as well as the ability to easily let the admin add custom icons and file type extensions to the system. TotalIndex comes with many preconfigured style themes to choose from. The script can be installed anywhere on your server and DOESN'T require the use of a database
During the past couple of years I have spent countless hours developing this site (the Internet Juggling Database). In this time I have learnt a lot about PHP, HTML, Java, mySQL and whole host of other technologies. Some of the code behind this site is good and some is bad. A Sitemap file lets you tell to the search engines about all the pages on your site and information about those pages, such as which are most important and how often they change. By submitting a Sitemap file to google, you can take control of the first part of the crawling/indexing processes. A Sitemap provides an additional view into your site and it helps speed up the discovery of your pages, which is an important first step in crawling and indexing your pages.
The location of a Sitemap file determines the set of URL's that can be included in that Sitemap. The best place to put your Sitemap is http://www.sitename.com/sitemap.xml. A Sitemap file located at http://www.sitename.com/images/sitemap.xml can include only URL's starting with http://www.yoursitename.com/images/.
