Many websites have a Contact Us form that emails the form contents to a specific email address. This example of a PHP contact form mailer requires that your webserver have PHP and PEAR installed. (PEAR is usually installed with PHP4, or you can find it here.)

First of all you have your HTML form, which then submits all the data to PHP to be validated etc. You have to write the validation rules for each form field in PHP, and then come up with a system of reporting errors back to the user. With large forms this can get extremely complicated!

Simple Form Script is my response to the other scripts out there. Before I learned to program I searched hours for a script that would allow me to put any type of html fields and just send it to my email. Other scripts only have predefined fields allowed. Maybe there will be a name and email and comment box, but it would not let me pick what I wanted. I hope that others will not have to experience my frustration.
