It is a Java servlet implements a classical message board. Board supports WAP/WML also. Servlet is fully configurable - you can even define your own labels (titles), e.g. translate interface to another language.
You can use boards with file based persistence - your data will be saved in the flat file (files) or database based persistence (through JDBC). See below how to define this option.

WebForum is a servlet which can be used to build professionnal web boards with Web forms for administration. It is multilingual and require only a small configuration files to setup (just upload it to your server). Of course, you need Java servlet compatibility (tested with Java Servlet Kit 2.0 and above) and Java 1.1 (tested with both Linux and Windows). It is entirely Open Source (GPL), of course. Of course, it runs even faster with modern JVMs!

What is this servlet for? From the one side it is a Java servlet implements classical message board. But from the another site it is a new concept. You do not need to go to particular web site for checking messages. The whole discussion will be locked within your mailbox. All what do you need is a mail clients supports HTML messages (most of them do this nowadays).
How does it work? With the help of this servlet you can start a new discussion. You type your message and mail it to the people you want to be joined to your discussion (including yourself). After that all what do you (and they) need is only check from time to time this letter from your (their) mailbox (mailboxes). Of course when you do that you must be online and MailBoard servlet (maintains all discussions) must be up.
