SMSing is a simple client/server based application to send SMS text messages through the Internet using Clickatell as service provider. The application supports multiple users, credits, logging aso. In the current version, SMSing should not be used in a productive environment, but shall demonstrate how to use and combine different technologies to send SMS?s. Slideplayer is a standalone slideshow player built upon the slideshow applet in jtvmaker. It can play all jpeg photos and mp3s in the current working directory. To launch the player, users should copy it into a folder containing selected photos, mp3s and lyrics. To make a customized slideshow, please use the slideshow generator "jtvmaker".
James H. Kaufman is a research staff member at the Almaden Research Center, IBM Research Division. He received his B.A. in Physics from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in Physics from UCSB. Dr. Kaufman has worked in several areas of research at IBM, including micromagnetic modeling, magneto-electronic devices, dynamical systems, pattern formation, critical phenomena, and diamond-like carbon . He has also served as a technical manager and has led a department in Science and Technology responsible for development of new materials for recording heads and non-volatile magnetic memory (MRAM). Dr. Kaufman recently moved to the Computer Science Department, where his current research interests include management of dynamic spatial data and technologies for privacy protection.
Jussi Myllymaki is a research staff member in the Web Technologies Department at the Almaden Research Center, IBM Research Division. He received his M.S. degree in Industrial Management from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Dr. Myllymaki's early work focused on performance evaluation of tertiary storage devices and database systems. Later, he worked in Web search engine technology and Web data extraction (see the developerWorks article).
