Centralized Database Meta Data caching provides the following improvements:
The Object Tree is now updated immediately to reflect the DDL statements executed in the SQL Editor. This works as long as standard DDL statements are used.
Syntax coloring and code completion for newly created tables, views, columns, procedures is available right after a DDL statement was run. This works as long as standard DDL statements are used.
The refresh button updates the Object tree as well as syntax highlighting and code completion.
Session startup performance
General: New Alias properties allow to configure the loading and caching of Schemas.
Oracle: When the Oracle Plugin is used the user is able to configure Schema loading according tohis access privileges.
Note: By default only those Schemas that the user has access to are loaded.
Output displayed tables to CSV files. The user can choose to immediately open table contents in another application like Open Office Calc or MS Excel.
Enhancements of the Bookmarks Plugin
Bookmark preferences can be opened by the new "Edit Bookmarks" button in the Session tool bar.
Bookmarks can be run from within the Bookmark Preferences.
Many additional "SQuirreL Bookmarks" which are templates for many common SQL/DDL statements.
Users can choose to see "SQuirreL Bookmarks" in the Bookmarks selection popup of the SQL Editor (ctrl j).
Quickly adopt column widths to column values when table header is double clicked while the resize mouse pointer (<-->) is visible (like Open Office Calc or MS Excel).
New tool bar button to quickly toggle auto commit.
Optional internationalization jars have been added to the installer(Simplified Chinese (xpdz), French (Erwan Duroselle), German (Andreas Oswald) and Italian (Ivo Neri)
DBCopy plugin which allows tables (definition and data) to be easily copied from one session to another (can be different databases)
