1117Displaying the newsletter archiveshttp://CoverYourASP.com/ArchivesDescr.aspMany people don't like subscribing to newsletters, my earlier survey confirmed that. Either they have been burned by spammers at some point (haven't we all?), or there are just too many ASP sites offering newsletters!
I understand. Some people simply can't subscribe - one user tried but every newsletter got bounced by his mail server "because it contained potentially harmful script". Of course, that's just daft because my newsletter is plain text, and contains what looks like script, not anything executable.ASP > Scripts and Components > File Manipulation > File ManagementOct 10, 2006
ListFiles - is an Active Server Pages component for obtaining web-server's directory structure. It allows you to list web-server's files and directories via web-browser. You can customize its powerful and easy interface in order files and directories to be displayed in your own interface. With ListFiles you can manipulate web-server's files not using FTP protocol, retrieving directory listings in an easy manner. Also ListFiles defines methods aimed at working with files and directories.
This component can Upload/Download Files/Folders and Sub-Folders from/to the Web Server using Auto Resuming option. You can also transfer file using your Web Browser. It can set CHMOD on Unix servers, read Welcome message, send custom commands, return FTP Server replies, connect through FTP/SOCKS proxy, make a progress bar, and do others basic commands.
Sometimes you will need read formatted Windows INI files. You can use some free or comercial components (see our INIFile class). But there is also simeple VBS solution, without external components.
Your hosting service will not allow you to install an ASP component that would do the INI reading - you can use these VBS functions with Scripting.FileSystemObject.

A must-have tool for any ASP or PHP server. Give web-access to files and directories, show folders
and files in a tree applet that is collapsible, dynamic, configurable, fast, and 100% client-side.
Access your files from anywhere on the web. The server script automatically detects changes in the files or directories,
with no intervention from the site administrator. Thus, the next time the tree is loaded by a new user,
or reloaded by the same user, it will automatically show the new structure.
You can filter files by type and use a different icon in the browser for each file type. Works with local drives, mounted drives, or network shares. The code is compact, with comments, and nothing is encrypted.
Available in ASP and PHP versions to install the code in your server or in your web-hosting account.
