RPGBoard's phpBB project is an effort to port over various features of RPGBoard to phpBB. My main goal is clean code with less bloat, but with most of the great features found in the old RPGBoard. phpBB RPGBoard comes as both a series of MODs and a "mega-MOD" that combines them all into one patch. The mega-MOD is still in the works, but for now, you can check out the individual MODs:

The Binary Board System is a highly flexible, customizable CGI application that handles a complete bulletin board system. It includes a user-based login system, and it handles as many separate boards as you would like. BBS started out as a small bulletin board application because, as a website administrator, I was fed up with our FrontPage-based boards continually crashing. When those boards failed, it resulted in hours of restoration and group downtime. The functionality and flexibility of this system continued growing, and it has become a very unique, powerful bulletin board system.

SQL Database - Gossamer Forum stores all it's information in an SQL database and will run on Oracle, MySQL, Postgres or Microsoft SQL 7/2000 servers.

I noticed some typos in permission names implemented in 2.12 that denied access to the forum and category management sections. Although a tiny update, it was annoying enough that I've gone ahead and released version 2.13. The full version is available in the "Downloads" section of course. If you only want the files that have been changed between versions, you can get the "patch" instead.

This program has spawned many imitators but this is the original. For anyone who needs to publish a lot of text on the web Txt2html is extremely useful. It is a tiny program that automates the process of splitting up large text files into nice html pages containing all the necessary hyperlinks to all the other pages.

welcome to EZMBGEN - the Easy Message Board Generator. i picked Message Board v4.0 from CGI Factory as the basis of EZMBGEN because of its simplicity and power.
after you install this script at your site, you offer your guests the ability to create their own message boards and control the look by selecting these options:

an external image may be used as a logo
the font (face and size) is selectable
there are many color schemes to choose from
it is possible to require that subject, name and/or email be entered in order for a message to post.
HTML entry may be turned on or off
the auto-reply feature may be turned on (ie. the poster can choose to be notified when someone posts a reply to the poster's message)
it is possible to limit the number of replies to a thread so it doesn't become unwieldy
it is possible to set the number of messages per page in the index (the board will automatically create pages as required)
it is possible to set the maximum number of threads in the board (the script will continually monitor this limit and delete oldest threads as new ones are added

Agora is a web-based, threaded discussion tool. It's *fast*, very intuitive to use, was beta-tested by more than a hundred people, and is now totaly stable. Agora remembers each user's preferences, and allows unread-only browsing, like a usenet-news system. It offers the ability to manage several different groups, with different forums and administrators for each group. Version 1.3x has a "skin" system which allow each users to have his own colors/fonts/background.

Compatibility with WWWBoard. Ruboard may be used to control WWWBoard forums without any conversion (I had not tried this, but no changes were done to file formats).

WebBBS is, as the name implies, a Web-based bulletin board. Unlike most other such boards, though, WebBBS stores messages as simple text files and creates HTML pages "on the fly." This means that the message index can be tailored by the user based on date and/or subject (via built-in keyword search capability), and can be viewed as threaded, chronological or "guestbook-style" lists. A wide variety of options are available both to the administrator and to the users, and "behind-the scenes" administrative tasks (editing and deleting of messages, etc.) are a breeze! WebBBS supports automatic quoting of message text and e-mail notification of those who want to know immediately when a new message has been posted. It also offers an archive-only option, the ability to run moderated boards, and "cookie" support!
