The all-in-one package to display a counter on your website! Its totally up to you how you use it. It has two modes of operation, the first being text based where the count is returned simply as a number and the second being where graphics are displayed showing the hitcount.

You can browse the character set index either in either raw, image-less mode, which presents a (long) directory list of the available character set fonts by name, at which point you can select among them for viewing; or you can preview the graphics in bunches, which shows you a list of image collections arranged in groups of fonts whose names start with the same letter. Similarly, there is a set of image borders which you can also view in image-less mode, or in bunches.

It's a Perl script, so installation is pretty easy. You don't need to
compile anything.
Copy counter.cgi in your /cgi-bin/ directory
Make it executable, unix only (chmod a+rx counter.cgi)
Edit counter.cgi, you will have to do some configuration:
Change #/usr/bin/perl, if it's necessary...
Change in "Necessary Variables Section"

This is basically the same script as the text counter, except it uses graphics. The script uses small gifs, 0-9, to print out the page count. The count is in a table and is at the bottom of the page, either left justified or centered. This script is easy to set-up and use. This script, like the text counter, is used as your 'index' page. A great script if you can run cgi's in your directory.

If you can run SSI scripts, you can use this very simple Graphics Counter. It is being used on this page. It appears at the bottom of the page, either left justified or centered. You can use the table function built in to the script to display a table around the count, or use plain text, by setting options in the script. The program will count a single page or your whole site. Log files are automatically generated by the script for each page, the first time the page is called
